Hangi

For reading my group read a book called Hangi. It is about a Whanau who needed to raise some money. They decided to do a Hangi. In the story the adults are the bosses and the children are the workers. Everyone helped to carry the Manuka wood to the pit so they could stack it up to light it and heat up the stones.

Culture Punctuation


We have been learning about Capital letters, full stops, commas and apostrophes.  Here is a sentence that I put the punctuation in for.

Tennis hoop

Tennis hoop is a game that came from Auckland and it is made by this amazing person call PJ.  It is a mix of basketball, rugby and tennis and it is a made up game. This is how you win you have to get the most hoops.

The equipment you will need is a tennis ball, an american football head gear and a bullet proof vest. The place you will play is a stadium sized grass field.

The players will you need it 12 player The rules are that you have to hold the tennis ball and you are not allowed to drop it or you're out. You also have to tackle the one who has the ball.

Culture Dictogloss

What is Culture?

Cultures is where you come from. Cultures have different languages, songs, flags, foods, beliefs and clothes. My Cultures is samoan and we have koko that  is like tea.

Different countries have different cultures. In Japan old people wear kimonos, do tea ceremonies and put flowers in a jar.

Commonwealth game

The Commonwealth Games were called the friendly games they were special.
The first games was in 1930 in Canada. 11 country went to participate around the world.There were only 6 games and 59 events.

the game has changed even its name has change. from 1930 to 1950 it was called British Empire Games . In 1954 until 1966 it was called the British Empire and Commonwealth Games
